Visitation will take place on Tuesday February 27th from 2-8pm at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday February 28th beginning at 11am at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will take place on Thursday February 29th at Eagle Cemetery in Milesburg PA.
Christa Lawrence passed away Sunday, February 18th after a long illness. She was 55 years old. Born in NYC, Christa grew up in Westport, CT and attended Staples High School. She moved to New York City at 17 years old and immediately knew she was home. She loved everything about the East Village - the people, the energy and the music - and it loved her back. She soon became a main stay of the East Village and in the rock and roll social scene where she made many friends and was always part of the fun. Over the course of her almost 40 years in the city Christa worked as a bartender and manager in several bars and restaurants. She later entered the Real Estate business most recently working for Bond New York.
Christa was an unforgettable person. Everyone that crossed her path either growing up in Westport, or in her adult life in the East Village loved her and is quick to tell a story and share a laugh about their time with her. Christa’s quick wit, her unique sense of humor and her one of a kind laugh will never be forgotten.
She is survive by her close friends Jay Clark and Mary Rodriquez and her sister, Andrea Lawrence Moore. She is predeceased by her parents Joanna and M.J. Lawrence. Services will be held February 27th 2-8pm at Peter Jarema Funeral Home at 129 East 7th Street, NYC. Funeral will be helped February 28th at 11 am at Saint Stanislaus Church, 101 East 7th Street, NYC. Christa will be buried at Eagle Cemetery, Milesburg, PA the following day alongside her parents.
