Viewing will take place on Monday November 13th from 2-8pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday November 14th at Most Holy Redeemer starting at 10am with burial at St. Raymond's Cemetery to follow.
Barbara Berezowski peacefully passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 93 in New York, NY. Born Barbara Wendel in Manhattan on July 22, 1930, she was a world-class, unflappable, joyful hostess. She was happiest when her apartment was bursting with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Barbara and son-in-law Tom; son Paul and daughter-in-law Nancy, daughter Dorothea and son-in-law Tom; granddaughter Erica and husband Carlito, and great-granddaughter Luna. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Tony, son Phillip, sister Marguerite, brother Father Arthur Wendel, sister Dorothy, brother-in-law Charlie, sister-in-law Mary, brother-in-law Jerry and sister-in-law Margie. She was a dedicated and lifelong parishioner of Most Holy Redeemer church. It was there that she was christened, had her first communion, got married, brought her children to mass, served on countless committees, sang in the choir, and more. Barbara dedicated over 30 years of her life to her work as the school secretary at Our Lady of Sorrows on the lower East Side. Her devotion to the students, teachers, and principals was commendable. In her leisure time, Barbara cherished traveling with her husband Tony and brother Arthur. Exploring new places and experiencing different cultures brought her great joy and wonderful memories. Barbara's warmth, faith, and the hospitality and love she showed to her family and friends will be deeply missed
